What is Majordomo?
Majordomo is a personal AI assistant that runs entirely on a computer in your home. It is a self-hosted, private alternative to cloud AI assistants: it reads your email, documents and calendar, remembers your household, and acts on your behalf, without any of your data leaving the building. Each machine is built to order from workstation-grade hardware and arrives with the software and models pre-installed.
How do I order one?
Configure your build on this page and request a delivery estimate. Within two working days a build specialist confirms component pricing, availability and a delivery date. You pay a deposit only when you confirm, the balance on delivery. Every machine is assembled and burned in to order; typical lead time is three to five weeks.
Which AI models does it run?
Open-weight models matched to your accelerator memory: gpt-oss-120b on the 96 GB reference build, 70B and 32B-class models on smaller cards. We evaluate each release against our household test suite and ship the ones that pass. You can add or swap models yourself.
Who can see my data?
Nobody but the people in your household. Documents, email and the assistant's memory live on encrypted disks inside the machine. We have no account for you, no telemetry and no remote access unless you deliberately grant a support session, which you can end at any time.
What happens if the internet goes down, or if you go out of business?
It keeps working. Inference, memory, search and the household briefing all run locally; only fetching new email and calendar entries needs a connection. The software and the open-weight models are installed on your machine and stay yours whatever happens to us.
What does the white-glove service include?
Everything, so you do nothing. We deliver and install in person, connect every email, calendar, cloud storage, banking and smart-home account, import and index your documents, and configure what the assistant remembers and what it may do on its own. Ongoing concierge then keeps its memory curated, adds new app integrations as you adopt them, applies model and security updates, and gives you a named engineer. Both are opt-in and cancellable.
Does it need an internet connection?
Only to fetch your email and calendar from their providers, and for software updates. Inference, indexing and search run entirely on the machine. Pull the network cable and it keeps working on what it already has.
Are the prices here what I will pay?
They are estimates built from current retail component prices, before tax and delivery. GPU prices in particular move; your delivery estimate quotes confirmed prices and lists our assembly and support margin as a separate line.
How much can I customise it?
As much as you like. Swap or add models, change its name and voice, write the rules for what it may do on its own and what needs your sign-off, and decide exactly which accounts and folders it can reach. Everything is open and inspectable; we can make the changes for you or show you how.
Can you install Majordomo on hardware I already own, or on a Mac Studio?
Possibly. Tell us in the notes what you have. A Mac Studio with 128 GB or more of unified memory is a capable alternative platform and we are happy to discuss it.
Where do you deliver?
We build in Glasgow and Seattle and install in person across the Scottish Central Belt and the Puget Sound area. We ship insured throughout the UK, Ireland, the EU and the United States with remote onboarding included; Canada, Australia and other regions are quoted individually in your delivery estimate.
What about support and warranty?
Components carry their manufacturers' warranties (typically three years for workstation GPUs). We support the Majordomo software directly, by email and opt-in remote session, for as long as you own the machine. Ongoing concierge customers get a named engineer and priority response.
